Clash - The Other Side

Post by Red Angel » 14 Mar 2018, 12:58pm

This is a collection of mostly unusual tracks, a set pleasant to listen. All the tracks @ 320 kbps for a good home listening and the best for portable/car player. I did some work on the distance between tracks, the in-out of the live tracks, remix between This Is Radio Clash and Radio Clash, and adjusted the volumes. No artwork because I'm not able..., if you play it loud it's better.

CD1:

01. Complete Control (live)
02. White Man In Hammersmith Palais (alt. version)
03. Pressure Drop (alt. mix)
04. One Emotion (edit)
05. Tommy Gun
06. Drug-Stabbing Time (live)
07. Bankrobber / Robber Dub
08. London Calling (2012 remix)
09. Armagideon Time (live)
10. Justice Tonight / Kick It Over (edit)
11. Train In Vain (live)
12. Clampdown (live)
13. The Cost Of Living Advert

1,5,11,12: Selections From The Clash Live: Revolution Rock (promo CD) / 2: RAR's Greatest Hits (LP) /
3,7,10 : Black Market Clash (CD) / 4: Clash On Broadway [1991] (3CD) / 6: From Here To Eternity (iTunes bonus track) /
8: A-side (7" Limited Edition) / 9: Concerts For The People Of Kampuchea (2LP) / 13: The Cost Of Living (EP) //
thanks to Marky Dread for tracks 8,13

CD2:

01. The Magnificent Seven (edit)
02. The Street Parade (edit)
03. Radio One (extended version)
04. Midnight To Stevens
05. This Is Radio Clash / Radio Clash (remix)
06. Inoculated City (censored version)
07. The Escapades Of Futura 2000 (12")
08. Cool Confusion (7" mix)
09. Janie Jones (live)
10. This is England (dub version)
11. (In The) Pouring Rain (live)

1: Mixed Masters (3" CD) / 2: Clash On Broadway [1991] (3CD) / 3: B-side (7" Hitsville U.K.) / 4: Clash On Broadway (3CD) /
5: a personal remix of Mixed Masters (3" CD) / 6: Combat Rock (first LP-CD issue) / 7: Futura 2000 (12" A-side) /
8: B-side (7" Should I Stay Or Should I Go - US) / 9: From Here To Eternity (iTunes bonus track) /
10: A-side (withdrawn 7" Dutch) / 11: Joe Strummer - The Future is Unwritten (CD) //
thanks to Marky Dread for tracks 7,8,10

Gonna check this out tonight. Thanks.
I just polished off some Low Country shrimp & grits and a mess of collards. That's a hell of a strain on the arm.

You know, I might do my own edit of One Emotion and lose the lumbering middle bit and elongated ending. It's a pretty good song otherwise.

I don't think I've heard that mix of Cool Confusion for about 30 years, used to have it on vinyl. What an absolutely woeful song though, it's just so stiff and useless. The fade-out is bizarre as well, it just kind of randomly happens.

I've never heard of a 2cd version of The Future Is Unwritten. Where would I find that?

Some clarification:

1 - One Emotion (4:11) that I called "edit", is the first version appeared on Clash On Broadway [1991] long box, then replaced by a longer version (4:40).
2 - The Street Parade (3:19) a hidden-track on CD3 of Clash On Broadway [1991] it's a shorter version than Sandinista! (3:28). Just a curiosity.
3 - Inoculated City (2:11) is the version censored after the complaint from the makers of "2000 flushes" then replaced again by the original version (2:43).
4 - This Is Radio Clash / Radio Clash, it is the only one not in the original format. I did a personal mixing because the version that is on the 3" single is just one song after another.
