I'm up for a challenge. I'm thinking Screaming Blue Messiahs, Tom Robinson, Only Ones - non-ironically, as I think all three have something that most peeps here could dig, and none of those acts seem to get much traction here.

Also - Revbob - I could do a Bowie or Reed one with you. I'd try to (with no piss taking) cater to what I think you might appreciate. Anything you might offer would be cool, mate. (even Sabbath!).
Okay muppet here's my Sabbath challenge. Its all original Ozzy era and stops short of Heston's favorite Never Say Die. One song from each of the first 7 albums. They should all be very youtubable but if you prefer I can package the mp3s and upload them like I did for Doc with Chumbawamba

1) The Wizard
2) Hand of Doom
3) Children of the Grave
4) Under The Sun/Everyday Comes & Goes
5) Killing Yourself to Live
6) Symptom Of The Universe
7) Back Street Kids
OK, cheers, Rev. I'll try to just listen to the original studio versions, yeah? (btw - why no "Iron Man" or "Paranoid"? I actually really like those two! ;)).

So would you prefer Bowie or Reed? I'll be doing the full ten tracks, per Docs original rule.

Here's the first 6

The last one is on youtube I don't actually have it.

I didn't do Paranoid or Iron Man because they are too well known.

Bowie or Reed, you pick. I know 2 Reed songs and don't care for either. I know plenty of the commercial Bowie and don't care for that either, that 80s stuff that was all over the radio "Let's Dance", not my thing.

Thanks man, but I'm just gonna YouTube them, actually just listened to "The Wizard" and a whole rush of memory came flooding back, like, I've heard this many times a million years ago. But I'm gonna try to listen objectively, with new ears, as it were. Probably won't get to the review til tomorrow though.

Think I'll do Lou Reed; am I correct to assume you might dig the louder, nosier, heavier guitar stuff? Should I throw in a couple menacing quieter things for contrast?

sorry, revbob. I listened to and reviewed 6 of the seven tracks - carefully and non sarcastically (even had some positive things to say). and I lost the whole review and don't have the heart to do it again. so if you wanna just drop the Reed challenge I understand. i'm really shitty with computers. sorry man.

To be fair it's a Bank Holiday over here. I also retract that statement about the KISS thread now I've sobered up.

If there's no takers I would do it. All I know is Seven Drunken Nights and Irish Rover really.
