Werewolves of London is an interesting song - believe it features Mick Fleetwood and John McVie and was produced by Jackson Browne.muppet hi fi wrote: ↑05 Jun 2018, 8:18pmNever heard about that, could be though - it's not like it's a terribly unique progression. After all, Lynyrd Skynyrd weren't all that original in the chord department, maybe their only redeeming attribute.Heston wrote: ↑05 Jun 2018, 8:03pmI love Werewolves of London but didn't that steal from a Lou Reed song or something?muppet hi fi wrote: ↑05 Jun 2018, 8:00pmIt actually starts out using Warren Zevon's "Warewolves of London" then later comps "Sweet Home Alabama" (same progression); only ever heard it once or twice and liked the musical sampling novelty, but the song overall makes John Mellonhead sound like Cole Porter, and I too couldn't name another Kid Rock song.

I think I could stomach some of his songs if it were not for Kid Rock as an individual. He just taps into that fake Trump America too much. Guy portrays himself as a redneck when he grew up in suburban Detroit. I just dislike his shtick so much.

I saw him in person in Grand Rapids. He was eating sushi and drinking craft beer.WestwayKid wrote: ↑06 Jun 2018, 12:16pmI think I could stomach some of his songs if it were not for Kid Rock as an individual. I'm pretty ok with Warren Zevon. He was delightfully weird.WestwayKid wrote: ↑06 Jun 2018, 12:14pm

And not only suburban Detroit, but very upper middle class suburban Detroit. if I'm not mistaken, his dad owns a chain of car dealerships. He's not some trailer park-raised kid from Mobile, Alabama as he likes to portray himself. I have no idea why I know this much about Kid Rock, BTW.WestwayKid wrote: ↑06 Jun 2018, 12:16pmI think I could stomach some of his songs if it were not for Kid Rock as an individual. Because you're, like, totally in love with him. Stop denying it.

Not to get off topic but that "I wanna get lost in your rock n roll and drift away" song is one of the worst ever.

At least he eventually admitted the steal. How could he not??? I’ve always presumed that was the irony of the lyric ‘It all sounded the same’.Marky Dread wrote: ↑06 Jun 2018, 3:15pmAt least he eventually admitted the steal.
