This is a real bummer.

I've never seen him live and probably should (or should have).
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Just go when he plays rock and roll and now sleepy lounge jazz.

Spiff and I got to see him a few years ago, great show. I'll count myself lucky to have seen him. Here's hoping this is just a bump in the road for E.C.

Wishing him a speedy and full recovery. I'm curious as to what kind of cancer he has.

Elvis was my first live show in ‘78 with Richard Hell and the Voidoids and John Cooper - Clarke.

Saw him twice in 2005 - one with the Imposters, which owned bones, and one at Ravinia festival with Emmylou Harris like two months later that was a snooze because it was aimed at wine Boomers picnicking in a park.

I will NOT cope well with this one.

I don't think he's a goner just yet.

I love this. Not just Elvis's take on the Sun, but also the way the Liverpool Echo refuses to name the paper on its website.
Fingers crossed for a full recovery, Mr Dynamite...
