MKTO - American Dream.
You could take your pick but the line where he sings," cause Jack left Diane 30 years ago" makes me want to smash the radio.
It isn't just the words it is the way he delivers them, as if to say this is such a brilliant lyric I am going to emphasise it as much as possible!!!!!
Who?

I've never heard of them. Boy are they crap.
Indeed.
Have you guys seriously not heard that song before? For a while it was the only song they played on the radio!!
Nope but then so little new chart music is of any interest to me.

The only radio I ever listen to is when someone posts up a link here or maybe a podcast. I'm just not in the least bit interested in everyday radio.

The Eurythmics, sounds like she has a speech impediment!

No-one on earth could feel like this.
I'm thrown and overblown with bliss.

Beautiful South - Don't Marry Her

Those birds will peck your soul out
And throw away the key

What?

Love a good crap lyric. Can I suggest the great Jessie's Girl,

"You know, I feel so dirty when they start talking cute,
I wanna tell her that I love her,
But the point is probably moot."

Haha that's great! Meant to watch this at the time but totally forgot!

With regards to the thread, one of my favourite 80s tracks just a shame about these 2 lines.

"From a chain gang to the mill.
The mill that sits on top of the hill"

Joe was just letting you know that it was a two mill town. All the rich folk went to the mill at the bottom of the hill and the poor were forced to climb the 5 miles to the top of the hill each day.

I took a pill in Ibiza
To show Avicii I was cool
When I finally got sober, felt 10 years older
But fuck, it was something to do

One of the worst I've ever heard.

Heard this today and thought of this thread.

Hangover - Taio Cruz,

I got a hangover, whoa-oh-oh
I've been drinking too much, for sure
I got a hangover, whoa-oh-oh
I got an empty cup, pour me some more
So I can go until I blow up, eh
And I can drink until I throw up, eh
And I don't ever ever want to grow up, eh
I wanna keep it going, k-keep, keep it going, going, going, going

I got a little bit trashed last night, night
I got a little bit wasted (yeah-yeah)
I got a little bit mashed last night, night
I got a little shit-faceted (yeah-yeah)

It really is something I would have written in my early teens after a night of stealing some of my dad's beers which my mates and I pretended to enjoy.

I do however unapologetically enjoy the song and use of the word "shit-faceted."
