I ordered the limited edition 2-CD version from the official website. Still waiting for it to arrive, but listened to the songs on YouTube in the meantime.

At least a few of the tracks have talking, rather than singing. Not sure I like that.
Well two are simply narration.

It's actually three narrations. Maybe Gill has a point 3/10 tracks is enough but they are all really good tracks.

B.L.M
10 Commandments
The Life And Times (Of A Man Called Depression)

I agree with Laxman about how strong "We Sell Hope" is. A great message and a top tune.

Thanks gkbill and Marky.
I never expected to hear a Concrete Jungle or Little Bitch, as Marky said these guys are 40 years older!!
What I was hopeful for was a Why? or follow up to Ghost Town which I think Vote For Me does well.
I have listened to the live tracks and enjoyed Lynval's version of Redemption Song.
Looking forward to this even more now.
Any news has it turned up yet?
According to Amazon tracker it hasn’t been dispatched yet but is showing a delivery date 13-18 February?
Amazon UK now selling the 2 disc set for £4.99

Listened to the album a couple of times and it’s not bad, it’s actually those narrative tracks that stand out most for me. Given the subject matter they’re quite compelling, if not musically arresting. I really like the lunatics version too.

Yep agreed the narratives are strong tracks. "The Lunatics" is a good reworking and still a very pertinent subject in these times.

Hey Marky, does the CD list the band members for the live tracks?

Thanks Laxman, same band that recorded Encore I believe (plus some guest vocals).

Kenrick Rowe listed on drums for Encore, plus different string section. Rest looks the same.

The Specials have their first #1 album!!
I’m guessing didn’t sell as many as s/t or MS to get there though :shifty:
