Not that I can go to these, but Slapshot Oi! sideproject Stars & Stripes is doing a free show in St. Louis on 3/30 for the Rude Fest and then Slapshot is headlining on 3/31. and Slapshot is playing Madison on 4/1 and in Chicago on 4/2. Midwest IMCTrs who want to see some classic hardcore (and streetpunk) would be advised to catch those shows.

The Proletariat have been playing shows lately too. Hoping they'll make it to Colorado.

I'm seeing Green Day Saturday night.

My teen-age daughter and her BFF will also be at the show, although our seats are far apart -- which is probably best.

Maybe I'll see her at the merch table ...

Be "that guy"—invade the stage, scream your head off between songs. Force her to choose between embarrassment or realization that her old man is way more into shit than her.

Hello,

Congrats! I really enjoy Against Me! I was disappointed I missed Green Day in Pittsburgh when I heard Against Me! opened.

Here's a nice photo of my daughter Amber and me at the merch table just before Green Day took the stage. And below it is a crappy cell phone photo of the stage taken from my $90 seat.

Oh, and Flex will be interested in knowing that I kept my long-standing tradition intact as I completely blew off the opening act.

(Sorry, gkbill ...)

But actually that was not on purpose, as I was surprised at how early Against Me! went on stage. I did, however, hear some of their last song as I was entering the venue.

Wire this weekend, The Damned next weekend. Midnight Oil in June, Donny McCaslin (his group was Bowie's band on Blackstar) in July.

I'm procrastinating on going out to the Wire show right now because:

1. I'm tired
2. It's cold out
3. I don't care about the opener

Wire was excellent—the set was subdued like the new album. Next up, The Damned.
