Yeah, let's start out there. If it's cool, great. If it's lame, we can go somewhere nearby. Maybe 5ish? I'll send a PM so no gets too jealous at our planning.

Sounds like you had a great time. Never got to see The Dead Boys. Did speak with Stiv once in London, a cool guy. Dues Cheetah Chrome now do the vocals?
Nah, Cheetah was just doing guitar and backing vox. They had an actually really good singer they picked up from a dead boys tribute band. Tons of energy and spot on singing. Definitely amped up the energy levels.

Ah that's interesting mate. Thanks for the info. Do you think they are likely to record anything new with this guy?

They actually released a re-recording of Young, Loud and Snotty with the new guy in September. I'd ignored it, but after seeing how good they were live I may pick it up. They did not mention if they were working on any new material.

Here's the new album: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Still_Sno ... otty_at_40

Yep I saw that but had no idea until now it was with that new guy. I will be very interested to hear that.

Got my tix for Weird Al's "Ridiculously Self-Indulgent, Ill-Advised Vanity Tour," which will feature no costumes, props, or video screens, and mostly his original tunes rather than parodies. I'm so excited I could supernova.

The Beat and The Selecter in March same bill 😊
Tempted to get VIP pass and get my Selecter / Beat 2 Tone singles signed.
Is it true that The Beat is called The British Beat in Australia and NZ?

I'm sure that both Dave's and Roger's versions are great, I heartily recommend the Dave Wakeling version. I just love his voice; it has aged very well.

Anyway, below is a crummy cell phone photo of Sunday's show.

Fun facts:
* Dave W. said that some clueless fans sometime think that the band's toaster, King Schascha, is Ranking Roger
* The woman singing in the far left of the photo is Dave's daughter
* I learnt by watching Dave play that although he's a leftie, he plays with a right-handed guitar, with the low strings on the bottom

Wikipedia says that The Beat is called The British Beat in Australia. Perhaps I should correct that?

(I know you're not in OZ, but if you are sure that The Beat is The Beat in OZ, I'll correct the Wikipedia entry.)

Fly over? I'm already there. I've been camping out my whole life just for this.
