Must confess to knowing very little about the Foxx incarnation of the band and wilfully tarring him with the stodgy Midge brush. Intrigued enough to want to check them out!Wolter wrote: ↑01 Jun 2017, 11:30pmHa!Low Down Low wrote: ↑01 Jun 2017, 11:27pmNever liked Ultravox or even met anyone who claimed they did. I will say when they had Foxx and an exclamation point, they were a totally different, much better band.

An observation: Carpenters fever seems to be gripping the board

I recommend Inder be tied down and bled until he's ice cold and no longer interested in the Carpenters.

Horrible title apart, that's not bad at all. Guess there were a lot of those early punky bands who subsequently went down the synth/commercial route.Marky Dread wrote: ↑02 Jun 2017, 1:47amUltravox! were great!Wolter wrote: ↑01 Jun 2017, 11:30pmHa!Low Down Low wrote: ↑01 Jun 2017, 11:27pmNever liked Ultravox or even met anyone who claimed they did. I think Karen had a beautiful voice and I hate that she struggled with an eating disorder, but, no, I will not be succumbing to Carpenter Fever.

Agreed, she was a lovely singer who had to elevate a lot of songs that were basically okay. Had she been a part of ABBA, she would be even more fondly remembered.
