Any list of top ten songs of the 60s that doesn't include "Fortunate Son" is, by definition, flawed. It's a better class warfare song than the efforts of thousands of punk bands that followed.

I’m so annoyed that it’s becoming the cliche song for “cut to Vietnam in a 60s period piece,” because it’s so much more than that.

I was driving my kids around a very wealthy suburb yesterday while Ali worked out at home, and I swear I drove right by an enormous mansion festooned with flags and bunting RIGHT as the “wave the flag” line came up and I was FEELING it.
