Really great band shame Mike was in and out of rehabilitation centres or we could've had even more great albums during that period.

Great, great singer but hard to look past the Harder They Come soundtrack as it's so great...

The Harder They Come
Many Rivers To Cross
Sitting In Limbo
Over the Border
I Can See Clearly Now
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

I saw Jimmy Cliff do a free concert in Vail a few years back. Exceptional. But yeah, hard to justify putting his (good) overall catalog above the The Harder They Come soundtrack.

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead

1. The Harder They Come
2. You Can Get It If You Really Want
3. Sitting In Limbo
4. Many Rivers to Cross
5. Let Your Yeah Be Yeah (one of my bands, DCH, used to cover this. I'd never heard it before. We had three (!) clean guitars on it, and my late brother Nick on lead vox - who was a tremendous soul/R&B singer. I started it full on fast ska; 2nd verse broke it down a bit; 3rd verse full on early '70s reggae, then back to ska for the chorus/outro. Also sang high harmonies on the chorus - again, never having heard the tune before. Got a nice sounding rehearsal tape but 'puter's fucked so I can't upload it :disshame:).

There is another song that would be in my top 5 if Zi could remember what it was called and haven’t got time st the moment to dig out the CD.

Hello,

Seven Day Weekend
Reggae Music
Viet Nam
The Harder They Come
Many Rivers to Cross

I really like a lot of his stuff. Rebirth is very good overall - I could have easily put both Ruby Soho and Guns of Brixton in the list.

It's a great song but I prefer the version Jimmy co-produced for The Pioneers best.

I'll sign off Marky's pick but will add their cover of It's All Too Much at number 5.
