The only thing I can think of [...] is Swans
That's your answer for everything!
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

Having just finished at my job after nearly 34 years, it has to be Smithers-Jones for me.

I'm going to go the other way and say that "I Want a Job" song from Sid and Nancy.
I hope you get a real job. One that satisfies your artistic needs.
Me too. No dice, so far.

Just put on the kettle and make some tea. It's all a part of feeling groovy! ;)

Much less horrifying than a wire made out of swans.

I was in a metal bar last night and the friendly young woman serving drinks had a Swans vest on. It was black and had teeth on it. Literally the first time I've seen the band mentioned away from IMCT. I almost mentioned the fact that I had a Canadian friend who loved the band, but there was no way she needed to know that.

It was a watershed moment in your life. But did you make the right choice? In a parallel universe, you're either on your way to leading to a successful revolution or you're lying dead in the gutter. Mysteries, mysteries.

I flatter myself that both outcomes remain equally likely.

I went to see Bob Gruen at a book festival a few years back, and I was SO tempted to ask if that character was based on him, but I chickened out.

Did you think that just from his appearance, or does he constantly write songs about wanting a good job, one that satisfies?

Late to the party, which will make picking 5 new tracks especially interesting, I think:

1. Johnny Paycheck (or, Dead Kennedys) - Take This Job and Shove It
2. Johnny Cash - I'm Free From the Chain Gang Now
3. Bob Dylan - Workingman's Blues #2
4. Guttermouth - God, Steve McQueen 'The Work Song'
5. Tom Waits - I Can't Wait to Get Off Work (and See My Baby on Montgomery Avenue)
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead
