Original picks are unimpeachable.

Working In A Coal Mine - Lee Dorsey
Isrealites - Desmond Dekker
the Factory - Warren Zevon
McAlpine's Fusiliers - The Dubliners
Clampdown - Johnny Caramello & The Sex Mad Three
That's a good pick.
All my picks are stellar, Mark ;)

I used to do a radio show usually on Mondays so I always had Labor Day (US). I would play a solid 2+ hours of songs along these lines, mostly folky stuff. The funny/sad thing is now I can only recall a handful

1) Worker's Song - Dick Gaughan
2) Crooked Jack - Dominic Behan
3) 16 Tons Merle Travis

Switching to punk tunes...
4)From the Cradle to the Grave -
Subhumans
5) Living with Unemployment -
Neurotics

If I ever have a daughter, I'm going to name her Stella, after Artois.

I should have picked Heston's "Up and Down Hills" which is an awesome tune.

Hello,

This is a good one - can I make it a late addendum to my list? Experienced individuals will recall how important this was at the time.

The only thing I can think of to throw in is Swans' magnificent "Time is Money (Bastard)." (Tho, actually, most of Filth, Cop, and Greed deal with being brutalized by work.)
"Grab some wood, bub.'" - Richard Nixon, Checkers Speech, abandoned early draft

I hope you get a real job. One that satisfies your artistic needs.
