One thing about Ottawa is that as a government town, it's more immune to recessions. It's not as cosmopolitan as places like Toronto or Montreal, but because of all the embassies, it's not totally bland either. I really do like the city, and I've never been all that attached to any city I've lived in. It just feels comfortable, lots of green space, and shit's always going on.
