What exactly have those poor indians done to deserve him? Or any other country for that matter.
I figured that ocean was sufficiently desolate to give him time to think and to regret.
Can you imagine the scene of a passing ship seeing a dishevelled Heston clutching an old Walkman with WBTCORNR on heavy rotation. One man's madness.
To be a happy sailor!

This song is a beast! A truly underrated hard rock track. The riff is a killer, rhythm section is killer, Diamond Dave's vocal is killer!

Must admit I have a soft spot for that one, I love the "hey hey" chanting at the end. The first Van Halen album is pretty good on the whole.

Taking a page from WestwayKid...

1. Slapshot - Battered

This one is a song about an abusive husband, but it has a happy ending in the final verse:

Walk in the room
It's three am he's passed out cold
Cross over to the bed and tie him to it
Seven years of living hell
It's time he got what he deserves
Cut his dick of and watch him bleed to death

2. Slapshot - Same Mistake

The power of repetition, this lyric accounts for 99% of the song over and over, drilling inot your head the psychic trap of the song:

Tried to get it right
Tried to get it right
But I made the same mistake
I made the same mistake

3. Slapshot - Killing Frost

Always loved Choke's delivery of the first verse. Evocative as hell, and probably the only "slow" Slapshot song in existence:

It was summertime
Just another day
Could have been October as the cold wind hit the bay
You couldn't know
What you meant to me
The feeling felt so close, I couldn't let you see
But now you're a stranger
Your eyes seem so cold
This is the time to break what couldn't be sold

4. Slapshot - What's at Stake

I guess this could be directed at anyone, but I think it fits the anti-love theme. The singer is watching helplessly, and with more than a little contempt, as their S.O. falls to drug abuse. Covered by none other than the Mighty Mighty Yucktones:

Stick the needle into your arm
Do anything that does you harm
I see you falling down on the floor
I see you staggering out the door
You tried it and you liked it and you thought that
You could take it
Until you realized you couldn't escape it
How far you fall you don't know
Until you're at the bottom with a nose full of blow
You don't know what you're doing to me
To see you laying there so helplessly
Get yourself together, before it's too late
Or a life of pain will be your fate

5. Slapshot - Freezer Burn

Again, Slapshot proves themselves masters of the mean and nasty anti-love song. Listening to this shit can't be healthy:

I don't do drugs
But I'm more fucked up than you
Wish I knew why
You decided you were through with me
My heads on fire
But my heart is as cold as ice
I got my gun
And now I'm paying the price
