Powers Boothe. He was in Red Dawn which was, perhaps, the most formative film viewing of my 13 year old self. He also played Jim Jones which plays well in my book.
I just know that he was the villain in the mid 90's Van Damme hockey action flick Sudden Death.

Oh I guess I saw Red Dawn too.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Amazingly, that was his birth name. It just screams acting name change, especially from the studio system days, yet that ain't the case.

Glad to hear of Ian Brady's death, hopefully it was painful.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Yeah, I worked with Powers pretty closely on it. He was really a larger than life character. An old-style movie star, but also smart.

The Moors murderer along with his goomah. They were particularly depraved murders in England in the 60s. They also captured the look and style of 1960s England:

Child killer with Myra Hindley. The police discovered all the remains except for one boy Keith Bennett whose mother went to her grave without ever knowing where her son was buried. Shameful and evil bastards.

This was quite local to me. Winnie Bennett was on the local news so many times over the years. That poor lady suffered for so very long.
