Love love loved the show when I was in first grade. I somehow failed to see a disconnect between the Burton Batman that I was obsessed with and this show. I loved them equally.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

This is THE most important scene to understanding Batman imho
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

Weirdly, Burton tried to distance his Batman from the 60s show, but honestly, it's campy as fuck and just as ridiculous.

I love that the ending of Dark Knight Rises seems an awful lot like an oblique reference to that.

Really, the only way the Burton films hold up at all is if you watch them in the same spirit of Batman '66.

Despite its rep as the dark, edgy series, I think Nolan knew what was up.

I like the Burton Batman and the 60s Batman. Screw serious Batman. He a man-bat and it's ridiculous. I reject brooding superheroes.

Giving Jack Nicholson carte blanche to go full Nicholson ensured a more campy than sinister Joker.

Oh no. Man-Bat is someone else entirely.

I met her after a show she did. She's tall as hell. And she still looked great in the late 90s.

Nooo my favourite Batman I loved that series.
Yep same here. Still the best ever.
When that series was on TV I used to read my brothers comics and the two were the same,I think it was the bright colours of the TV show made it was like you were reading the comic.
I have a load of bubble gum cards somewhere that have photos of the characters on one side and a giant jigsaw puzzle on the other.
