I liked this version:

Gotta be honest, when I saw the headline this morning, I didn't know what position that banner was supporting.
My drunken intuition was all wrong apparently.
I wonder whether our confusion was part of the design's intent, to make it harder to ignore and force something more conscious in our reaction. If so, kudos to them.

EDIT: there have been too many Jimmy Buffett concerts at Wrigley for me to mock you too hard over music. I mean, one is too many.
Buy Theo, get Pearl Jam. Non-negotiable.

I can summarize Greatful Dead night in six words:

SO. MANY. WHITE. PEOPLE. WITH. DREADLOCKS.

It was absolutely terrifying.
Did the Dreadlocks and Mullets at least annihilate each other afterwards?
There was a woman with a mullet sitting behind me! I would actually take the mullets over the white dreadlocks.

Oh yeah. Cubs twitter was having fun dragging him for that one.

Also, this is something I didn't expect, given how terribly they started the season:

I was just noticing that not only is Aaron Judge walking a lot, he seems to be scoring a lot of runs on those walks.

A suggestion: Gregorius is the Yankees' team MVP this year. Solid D and the cat can rake. He just never seems to cheat himself on RBI opportunities. Admittedly, he lacks those calm eyes that make McCarver's Little Tim dance like when he was young.

Yeah he's really something special. It is unfortunate that he is perhpas overshadowed in a way by how Jeter is revered by much of Yankee fandom. I wouldnt slag Jeter to the extent that many would nor do I think of him as a baseball god.

Is St. Jete's shadow still that commanding? The last few years were so ugly that he was clearly overstaying his welcome. They've actually got a SS who compares to Clear Eyes' prime. I've read that Mantle, as great as he was, was constantly compared unfavourably by fans and the media of the day to DiMaggio. Just nutso not to appreciate talent when it shows up.

It is. Those people would drink mug of Jeter's liqui-poo, say thank you, and save the unwashed mug. I've lived around these people, they're like trump supporters about the guy.

The frantic race for the last AL wild card is on! Last ten games: Twins, 5-5; Angels, 4-6; Rangers, 5-5, Royals, 4-6. Whose mediocrity will be mediocre enough in the last 10 days of the season?

The Cubs have quietly had a hell of a second half. I approve.
