I know. I'm terrible. I really, really, really tried to like it. But I just don't. And it makes me sleepy drunk instead of fun drunk.

That's what I like about wine—it's seriously relaxing. I'm kind of wired most of the day (hyperactive mind), so wine is a wonderful bring-me-down in the evening.

I know I am totally in the wrong here. I also really just don't like the taste of wine unless it's something sweet like a prosecco. I'm trash, I know.

If you've never tried it, give shiraz a shot. It's on the sweet side officially, but to me it's just a really full flavour—it really grabs the taste buds—and it has a better alcoholic effect. That's the kind I prefer to make, tho the Boss has forced me to try others. The pinot noir I made this spring ended up better than I expected, but I still prefer shiraz.

I've tried it and still don't like the taste. It's all on me, I know.

I don't really buy the idea of bad taste in wine. I mean, I suppose it exists as a concept, but if you genuinely enjoy what you're drinking, that's what matters (as long as you aren't watering things down, like some people). I'm not keen on white wine and I loathe merlot, but if others find it appealing, cool. But if your g/f is exposing you to other types of wine that appeal, that's great.

I'm boozing significantly less because I'm working on being less fat.

I've actually lost about 20 pounds in the past couple of months, so any complaining I'm doing is tempered by the fact I'm getting results.
