A large unmanned barge full of "LA RAMS SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS" T-shirts just spilled its load crashing onto the shores of Cameroon. :shifty:

There was a Family Guy episode where a guy wooing Meg gives her a gift and says something like, "I remember you saying you love crappy music, so I got you a Maroon 5 cd."

I don't watch it much anymore but they do really hit the mark sometimes.

It was really such an atrocious exercise in mediocrity. They make Nickelback sound like the Beatles. You are hosting the Super Bowl in a city with a long history of great musicians from Brenda Lee to Outkast, but you decide to invite the most milquetoast band around. A band from LA. And then throw in Big Boi so you look a little hip. I understand that many others might have been asked and declined because of the NFL's treatment of Colin Kaepernick, but, my god, anyone would have been better than Maroon 5.

I think I am reading too much into this, but if I were Janet Jackson, I would be fuming right now. Last year. you had the guy who threw her under the bus and essentially destroyed her career, and this year, a guy takes off his shirt in an act of desperation (well, I can't entertain them with my shitty music, let me throw the housewives a bone) and receives nary a backlash.

What a putrid spectacle from start to finish. It was like watching preseason football - the old man with no arm versus the young kid with an arm - but zero big game experience. The halftime show was pathetic. It seemed like Adam Levine could have cared less that he was out there - zero energy - and when they did something cool like bring out Travis Scott or Big Boi - they were on for like 15 seconds and then they cut back to Maroon 5. I'm not really a complainer and honestly I didn't expect much from this year's game (and in general I no longer expect much from the NFL) - but this Puke Fest exceeded my expectations for mediocrity... :yuck:

It's simple: male nipples are neutral; female nipples are the devil's pimples. It's in the Bible (around the three-quarters mark in most editions).

It's easy to hate TB, but he's also GOAT.
Joe Montana was better... ;)

I didn't plan on it - but took my kids bowling and found myself surrounded by big screens - so I saw bits and pieces of the 2nd and 3rd quarters - including the halftime show. I'm glad I didn't invest any more time or money on the game than that.

I was just in it for the food at our friend's house.

Tangentially related, but is it just me or have Super Bowl commercials lost their capacity to catch the eye? Absolutely nothing came close to making me think, "That was clever." Has television advertising, more generally, hit a terminal trough?

It's not just you.
