Damn! R.I.P. Clydie.

I've only got a comp of Minit Records wich has "Shing-A-ling" & "One Of Those Good For Crying Over You Days". I really need to dig deeper as the Minit 45's are are awesome. Got "Our Romance" on a Speciality comp it's a nice track but doesn't have that haunting quality of the Minit tracks.

Double damn just checked Amazon and "The Imperial and Minit Years" cd comp is £54.99 for a used copy.

I had the same thought, but I gather he'd been dealing with cancer for a really long time. Like Torre, I could never dislike Mel. Plus a really good pitcher who had the misfortune of showing up as his team went into a deep decline.

Yeah thinking back I kind of recall him giving up the pitching coach position because of cancer.

I think I can speak for everyone in stating that I thought she'd died a long time ago.

Yup. I would have bet on the fact that she was already dead.

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.
