Not even the scariest part of that fucking movie:
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I remember a really old episode of Jeopardy—like, early 90s—where a contestant said he was in a punk band when he was young and went by the name Vomit Government. It was like the name Mad would have come up with for a generic punk.

That bums me out. I've always had a soft spot for the Germs. My first real exposure came from watching the Decline of Western Civilization and Darby comes across as being kind of a drugged out idiot...but as I learned more about him - he really was a pretty smart guy and far more interesting than I once thought. The Germs had a unique sound.

Yeah, I actually have some Germs artwork on my wall. When I usedta work at the bar some girl made a germs piece for the gallery next door out of reprints of 45 sleeves and I told her it was cool. When it didn't sell she gave it to me and I hung it up.

I only ever checked out the Germs and none of the other bands of that era like the Avengers, Zeroes, Nuns, etc. I should do that today.
