Kitty had eight teeth removed. The doctor said her mouth was a wreck. She hid the pain so well up until the last couple of weeks. Anyway, they're keeping her for the day, giving her fluids.

Yikes. Poor girl. Cats are so irritatingly good at hiding pain. Smart in the wild, dumb when they have human servants. What's the prognosis for her?

The board ate my reply.

Not sure, considering her age. Once she heals, she should be fine. Doc didn't say anything about her jaw or gums being affected so she should make a full recovery. I'm just hoping she starts eating.

Will she need special food?

The vet already suggested something for better digestion. Kitty over-grooms, so hairballs are an issue, but, other than that, probably just soft food. I'll find out more when I pick her up, I'm sure.

Here's a pet peeve about pets: I've no patience for non-pet owners giving me the side-eye for what I do for my critters. No, I don't dress them up, give them massages, paint their nails, or feed them a raw food, gluten-free diet, but if I want to bird seed on the window ledge to entertain my cats, don't judge me. Dammit.
