I began wondering what sort of crimes I could get away with if I blamed her for them.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑15 Aug 2018, 3:39pmAh, the old "Women, huh?" defence. I was driving with my then-girlfriend to a local park and she was directing me because I'd never been there. She directed me into a right turn only lane, only to realize as the light turned that we needed to go straight, which she quickly and loudly proclaimed to me. I jammed on the gas to get into the left lane in the intersection and promptly got pulled over. The cop strolled up and asked me if I knew what I did wrong, and I told him I did but that I was being directed by my girlfriend in the passenger seat. He laughed heartily, patted me on the shoulder, and said "ah, I understand." He went to run my info and came back and let me off with a warning.

Coinkadinkaly, the Boss just got back from Sask and told me she drove a friend's Prius and hated it. She said it had absolutely no pick up and seemed to struggle maintaining a highway speed. So, our next vehicle will not be a Prius.JennyB wrote: ↑15 Aug 2018, 4:38pmNot in the US. Probably not more than traffic violations. Unless you think crimes of love are a possibility, then murder, kidnapping, and blackmail are on the slate.

Four years behind bars in a Canadian prison (which I imagine being like nice motels) seems a small price to pay for a couple of weeks of debauchery on other people's money.

The bit about him driving across the US in a Corvette that he bought with the stolen money made me think of the fake story that Lucas Jackson had printed up during one of his escapes in Cool Hand Luke, done to inspire his buddies still at the prison farm.JennyB wrote: ↑20 Aug 2018, 9:18amHe never hurt nobody! Good lord. It is a flat-out amazing movie and the one that confirmed to me that it's fine for a guy to look at Paul Newman and say, "That's one handsome man."JennyB wrote: ↑20 Aug 2018, 10:41amI've never seen Cool Hand Luke.
