They do sound nasty little buggers.JennyB wrote:Honestly, we had to do the same thing after I was bitten. They crawled out by the hundreds. But we weren't pussies like these people. And any house in MO is going to have brown recluse. They really are reclusive. The only reason I was bitten is because I pulled out an old quilt from a box and probably pissed one off.
Yeah, in a way I was lucky because I was bitten in the small of my back, so I didn't have to have anything amputated or have my face scarred, but I did get kidney failure. That was lame.Marky Dread wrote:They do sound nasty little buggers.JennyB wrote:Honestly, we had to do the same thing after I was bitten. They crawled out by the hundreds. This one was carrying some evil bug up near Heston's land.

Did you lose a kidney or was it just temporarily impaired?JennyB wrote:Yeah, in a way I was lucky because I was bitten in the small of my back, so I didn't have to have anything amputated or have my face scarred, but I did get kidney failure. Just temporarily impaired. I had dialysis a few times and was loaded up with prednisone. In the hospital for two weeks.Dr. Medulla wrote:Did you lose a kidney or was it just temporarily impaired?JennyB wrote:Yeah, in a way I was lucky because I was bitten in the small of my back, so I didn't have to have anything amputated or have my face scarred, but I did get kidney failure. Moral of the story: If you're going to get bit by a spider, make sure it was irradiated first.JennyB wrote:Just temporarily impaired. I had dialysis a few times and was loaded up with prednisone. I don't know if I've ever dealt with a poisonous spider before—I suspect not this far up north—but I either leave them be or escort them outside. Spiders and ladybugs are two bugs that I don't kill (who could harm a ladybug?). Dragonflies are also cool, but I've never been in a position where killing one is an option.tepista wrote:I actually like, and never kill spiders. Except black widows, cuz I worry they could bite my animals. There were some when we first got our house, ain't seen any in a while

Same here. I take any and all bugs outside. Which is funny because I am a die hard carnivore.Dr. Medulla wrote:I don't know if I've ever dealt with a poisonous spider before—I suspect not this far up north—but I either leave them be or escort them outside.
