And for the same reason I say he's probably going to lose unless the Democrats really fuck it up (like get caught rigging thing again for someone like Biden). If I'm a campaign manager who has his pick of sides for the more flexible path to victory, I want to sign on with the Democrats. They have to fuck it up to give Trump a solid chance.
It would take a lot to convince me that they won't completely fuck it up, though. But I'm a heavy cynic.
Oh yeah, they're so deliberately bad at this.

In recent memory 2004 and 2016. But I presume you weren't being serious.

2004 was a tough one to win, and all told Kerry did better than expected in a jingoistic environment. 2000, however, Gore should have won.

Yeah true enough that should have been an easy win but fucking Gore didn't even try to fight for it he conceded it wasnt even done.

My recollection is that it's been discovered that if the ballots were counted as prescribed until the Supreme Court ordered the recount stopped, Gore would have won Florida. So that's cool.

A newspaper did a recount afterwards (NYT?) and found Bush still would have won, tho it does depend on what standard one employs regarding the hole punch. Plus there was the whole butterfly ballot that made it easier for elderly Jews to vote for Heinrich von Buchanan. Based on voter intention walking into the booth, yeah, Gore won. But he ran a crappy campaign, avoiding his strengths and refusing to enlist a still-popular president who, um, might have helped him carry Arkansas.

Can't I just be a bigot in public without being made to feel bad about it?
