With perfect timing, on Friday my class discusses (among other essays), a piece about how Rolling Stone in the late 60s redefined the groupie as this parasitical, fallen woman. The piece also relates how male rock musicians used and abused underage female groupies. I'm going to be disappointed if someone in the group doesn't pick up the baton on that one.

Over/under on there being minimum 2 more allegations on top of this surfacing before his transparently obvious Friday-afternoon-news-dump hearing gets discreetly postponed? The floodgates are officially open.

Gee, I wonder why Avenatti said she wouldn't be coming forward until her security was first established.

Or was that #4 and your linky #5? I'm so confused. Could you media types maybe limit yourselves to a new allegation every 3 hours pretty-please so I can keep up with this? X(

What did we all think was going to happen when they nominated a guy named Brett? I mean, even Billy Zabka and James Spader turned down Brett roles because they were just too over the top on the asshole scale.

Judges named Brett are there to exonerate boys named Brock so Brocks can become the next generation of Bretts.

Anybody watch Ford's testimony? I can't bring myself to watch someone relive publicly and in an adversarial setting something so horrible and enduring, but the stuff I've read suggests that the Republicans in the room seem aware that they've totally lost control the narrative and butchered the optics. The overnight polling is going to be key here whether it even goes to a full vote.

I can't watch - but I've been following along. Sounds like her statement was pretty devastating (and painful to listen to). I've watched several highlights and I thought she came across as steady, calm, and credible. Her description of the attack was chilling. Jeff Flake looked ill - so yeah, I think they're becoming very aware that they've lost control of the narrative.
