i was worried i wouldn't get to really experience the existential dread of nuclear war that has shaped some of our stalwart posters here:
The Trump administration just announced it will officially withdraw from an aging nuclear missile treaty with Russia, a move that could kick-start an arms race and threaten the European continent — but also allow the US to better prepare for a war against China.
cool!

I love that it's 1982.

Think I prefer nuclear war.

Thank Christ I never shelved my anxiety about nuclear apocalypse. I feel so smart and terrified.

There should be some kind of rule of thumb where the further down the ideological spectrum from socialism one goes, the less accurate the understanding of socialism. Hearing a conservative attack socialism is akin to a fundamentalist attack evolution—i.e., shouldn't you be familiar with the principles you're attempting to critique?

Very good article, as was the following article about Eric Clapton https://thebaffler.com/latest/the-faire ... ss-kennedy

Though I do take umbrage at the sentence which says "Clapton had just stolen George Harrison's wife..." which implies that women are objects/property to be stolen. Otherwise, pretty much articulates how I feel about him.

I sometimes wonder, perhaps unfairly, if those same white blues fans are also the same ones who declare themselves the real victims of racism because, I dunno, a black person made them feel scared or something.

Regardless, I'm relieved that I hate Clapton's music so I don't have to feel conflicted about him. He's a dick, his music sucks, and he looks like he smells like a wet goat.
