Jesús Arias has died.

Post by dave202 »

Joe Strummer's friend from Granada, interviewed on The Future In Unwritten, and a prominent member of the Granada punk and music scene in general, has just died. I was able to get lots of information about the music scene and Granada in general from Jesús over the years, and will forever be thankful for this. In the article below, the cause of death is unknown, but all thoughts to his family.

I remember he used to post quite a bit on the old strummer websites. Very sad news.

Sad news. I can't say I knew him or knew much about him, but that article paints the picture of a bit of a cultural force. RIP.

Yes, very sad. He's also interviewed in I Need A Dodge: Joe Strummer on the Run and The Rise and Fall of The Clash. I highly recommend the I Need A Dodge DVD. The deluxe version of the DVD costs just a little bit more and is worth getting.

Yes, I'd forgotten the name. Came across a very warm and passionate guy, easy to see why Joe would have been drawn to him.
