On a lighter topic...
...my kids and I adopted a stray cat this weekend and named him Joe Strummer! :)
Had not planned on it (we already have a couple of rescues)...but he happened our way and I decided to take a chance and the moment my sister sent me the text about him (she actually found him) I was listening to one of Marky's remasters...so I decided on the spot he would be dubbed Joe!
My 5-year-old daughter calls him Joe Drummer, however!

No one ever names them Terry Chimes.
Seriously, tho, that's a cool and noble deed.

I through briefly about naming him Vince White, but I didn't want a cat named Greg in the house!Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑16 Oct 2017, 2:39pmNo one ever names them Terry Chimes.

Congrats on both adopting a stray and giving him such a cool name! Also, post pics!WestwayKid wrote: ↑16 Oct 2017, 2:21pm...my kids and I adopted a stray cat this weekend and named him Joe Strummer! :)

Nice one mate. Really good of you to give the little fella a home.WestwayKid wrote: ↑16 Oct 2017, 2:21pm...my kids and I adopted a stray cat this weekend and named him Joe Strummer! :)

You’ve got this all wrong mate. You haven’t adopted the cat, the cat has decided to board at your place as long as it is warm and you feed it or else it is moving on to something betterWestwayKid wrote: ↑16 Oct 2017, 2:21pm...my kids and I adopted a stray cat this weekend and named him Joe Strummer! :)

Oh, most definitely! I've lived with cats my whole life. They decide to live with you as long as it suits them!101Walterton wrote: ↑17 Oct 2017, 2:09pmYou’ve got this all wrong mate. We've got two Springers, the older one is Woody and the younger one is Bruce.
When we got the younger one, I got sick of folk asking if we were going to call him Buzz. Got a few strange looks when I explained Woody was named after Joe Strummer.

As previously posted my collie/springer rescue dog is named 'Strummer'

Re: On a lighter topic...
Years ago me and some flatmates christened a cat that 'moved in' one day with this very name.
And as 101w warns above, Brian stuck around for a few weeks, eating all the luxury cat food we started buying for him, then buggered off, came back a few weeks later, and kept repeating the cycle.
We all moved on eventually.
Lord knows who Brian is sponging off now
