Tymon Dogg Interview on C86 Podcast - August 2023

Post by YoungParisians »

C86 Podcast posted an interview with Tymon earlier this month:
https://www.c86show.org/e/tymon-dogg-sp ... ul-jones/

Tymon is very chatty and spans his entire musical career. He touches on the early 70s with Joe, a little bit about the Clash and living with the Slits, etc. It's mainly the last 25 minutes where he talks of his time with Joe and the Mescalroes. He mentions that Joe wanted to record Minstrel Boy with the Clash though doesnt say for what album. Not sure if that's already known but its the first time I heard about it.
Hello? Go ahead, man. Yeah I'd just like to say, um, lets have some music now, huh? Ok, ok...thank you.

Cheers YP, look forward to giving this a listen. I definitely didn't know that about Minstrel Boy, would have been interesting to see what the Clash might have made of it, but probably as well to have waited for what, to my ears, is the definitive version.

Thanks for the link, an interesting listen. Also, I didn't know 'Battle of Wills' had been reissued through Bandcamp, so now have a copy ordered.

It is a really nice 2CD collection, well worth getting.

I wonder if it was for the album Joe had planned to record with Mick as The Clash comeback.
