I was referring specifically to where Michael came from (not what he is now);
problem is – it's getting more and more tangled – the promotion Bernie did (in the early days)
...to tell the truth about Clash lore, anymore.
Also (and I'm all for your class discussion) the important thing about the upper classes, public school and success, fame...those kind of things;
a lot of that is dependant on the 'sense of entitlement' the kids who go to public school get (see Dammers)

Technically the local council owns them, Mick would just be an employee.

This whole thread is perplexing to the Americans.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Yeah we don't care about class here, we care about race. A LOT.

There’s a Frankie Boyle joke about class i can’t locate on the web but is along the lines that the best way to understand class is through the “sport” of fox hunting. If you see a fox in the garden, the upper class will jump on their horses and chase it, the middle class will get their kids out to take pictures and send them to Blue Peter while the lower class will beat it to death with a shovel and use it to make soup.

It's all about attitude and an understanding of others for me. Money is not the key here.

Warwick Estate may sit along the canal’s edge but it is a million miles from Little Venice on the other side.

It does say middle class in the first post, that was what I was responding to when I send “not”, not the thread title.

Frankie Boyle is a twat. He wouldn't know a working class person if they beat him over the head with a shovel.
