I'd almost certainly like them more if I'd never heard of this place. I won't say I dislike them, but all the critiques over the years has stained my consciousness when I listen.

I've studied the phenomenon of neo-provincialism in self-isolating online communities but this place takes the fucking cake.

Rumor has it that Sandinista originally began with Joe proclaiming, "This is a public service announcement . . . without guitars!"

I was in this position for a while, but then I realized that everyone on this board is basically like me, and I'm an idiot, so I should probably basically ignore all of us. :shifty:

What is the difference between this and the Clash Observations thread? Is "hot takes" an American phrase? I've never heard of it.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

A hot take is edgy and usually pretty dumb, more superficial moralizing than reasoned assessment.

I got to that point, and then I quit coming here to discuss the band and only came to hang out with the awesome people.
