The Clash live in 1983

Post by Heston »

Good or bad?

I'm just listening to Tucson now, inspired in places, tired and disinterested in others. And why the hell does Mick never play the guitar solo on I Fought the Law?
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Maybe it sounds thin without the second harmony part.

That would be a cop out, surely playing the main lead line would be better than just aping the chords. And Mick had some effects to call on...

In 1983 Mick's guitar had lost all its power, 100 times better in 1982. Magnificent seven, lost in the supermarket, white man and straight to hell are the only greats in this tour.

Supermarket sounds a bit undercooked to me.

Sure but apart from being interesting to hear it for the first time live, that guitar sound fits well.

I think they sound great, though oddly subdued. Maybe that's just the recordings, though.

Did MJ start playing that Electraglide exclusively in '83?

Death or Glory sounds pretty fab as well.

Yes, the sound of recording is flat, I think I read recently after a Wichita Falls update that were recorded by the same person, to which we must be grateful. :twitch:

I don´t know if was used in Combat Rock.

I like them on this tour---mainly because of the different set list. They bring back Hate N War, previously mentioned Death or Glory, plus Sound of the Sinners (which doesn't sound great live but was cool to hear).
