Supposedly the Lochem boot we have is not the full concert. There are rumors of an encore including Straight to Hell which would be notable as the only live Topper performance of that song. It's mentioned on bmc including a quote from someone there.
Yes, I've read about it too, would make sense that they played it.
Maybe. Seems strange that neither the audience tape or the FM broadcast has the encore though.
The audience tape was proven to be a hideously mangled remixing of the FM source processed to sound like it was from an authentic taper. The FoH sound is all kinds of wrong for a supposed tape recording of an outdoor festival. I dunno...some prankster thought he was earning himself street cred with that one.
So we still don't have the encores because the one and only source is the SBD from the radio station. The reason the tape cuts off before Clampdown is complete is because the security situation at the festival was getting hairy, so the station booked it out of there hastily at the end of the main set and was not around at all for the encores. STH is widely rumored, but the encores would've been regular-length so we're probably missing 4 or 5 songs. Unfortunately since the broadcaster fled the scene there was no one recording the soundboard during the encores, so the only hope we have is for a legit audience tape to surface.

Ah now all that makes sense. Such a shame to be missing all the encores. What is the point of trying to pass of a tape as legit when people are soon going to suss it's been doctored. Totally pointless exercise and just causes more confusion. I'm all for repairs to tracks and improvements in overall sound quality and speed adjustments etc but to fake something that doesn't exist why bother. Cheers again for the info Ratty nice one.
Forces have been looting
My humanity
Curfews have been curbing
The end of liberty
We're the flowers in the dustbin...
No fuchsias for you.
That Down at the Casbah Club cover is so, so good.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead
That Down at the Casbah Club cover is so, so good.
Too bad they didn't work more on the back cover
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.
Carry On Julie. What was that, the theme tune to a Sid James/Barbara Windsor film?
Per the setlist that would be Career Ops.

My actual first bootleg was the show from the 5th Oct 81. My friends brother used to "roadie " with the band when they played Manchester, These gigs were great as the first 10 rows of seats were removed, Support was Theatre of Hate. The night after the show-6th Oct- I was played the 5th -taped from behind the stage.
