Marky Dread Remasters
Re: Marky Dread Remasters
More audio ammunition from the Marky Dread Music Mine - I can't keep up here! And beautifully presented as ever.
Talking of artwork, I always loved that cartoon cover for the 'Capital Crisis' CD. Not at all Clash-like but I just liked it as a CD cover for some reason. It was a pity the CD had such crappy sound quality.
A few years later came 'Capitol Radio' (with an 'o') on the Gold Standard label, and that was a MAJOR upgrade but I think still has the edited Clampdown.
With Clampdown restored now, it looks like this is another core title

Yeah as you say John that cartoon is fun and looks cool. Thanks for the kind words appreciated as always. Hopefully this version will serve us right until a full Clampdown of high quality turns up.JohnS wrote: ↑20 Oct 2017, 7:56pmMore audio ammunition from the Marky Dread Music Mine - I can't keep up here! The version on the Megalist is most likely the one from the upgraded "Capitol Radio" CD as the sound is good. However Clampdown is still missing the 2 minutes and there is a wobble fluctuation at the start of Janie Jones and the intro and outro are less complete. My mix (imo) has a bit more bite also.

Yep there is a full version and that is the one I used to edit in to the missing section. It's just from an audience recording as opposed to the audio from the video feed which is more from the stage.laxman wrote: ↑21 Oct 2017, 12:32pmAccording to Black Market Clash there is a full version of Clampdown out there. Re: Marky Dread Remasters
I've been listening to these obsessively since download. I've never been a big bootleg guy, even with the megalist at my disposal, but I've been loudly playing at least two shows a day. My neighbours have many a reason to be pissed off at Marky Dread. Started my day with Electric Circus' punk rock and the multi-rhythmic Jaap Edenhall is on now and is slaying. Getting me revved up to deal with social interaction without alcohol at tonight's Socialist Party meeting. Thanks.

This one has been on a stack of bootlegs down the years as it's a nice clean sounding show. I've taken this one from the audio to the video feed of the show. Sadly the video loses about 2 minutes of Clampdown so I have edited that in from an alternate source. You will notice the different sound print but it's still a decent enough recording. I've remixed the sound and I think it sounds excellent. This is the most complete version available that I'm aware of with the longest intro and outro and no wobble on Janie Jones as per the version on the Megalist.
Flac and 320 Mp3's in the file.

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Well after my father died when I was 6 I was extremely introvert just very protective of my mum and younger brother. By the time I became 13 you wouldn't wanna fuck with me for sure. Nowadays I'm a lot more mellow but none the less stupid.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑23 Oct 2017, 4:03pmDon't be modest.
