Simonon is wasted on this. I'd rather he made a solo album in the vein of his Clash songs. Even the Crooked Beat has more melody than TGTBATQ.
Better lyrics too.

Yeah, that song went in one ear, out the other for me.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Apart from one song I can’t remember the name of I thought the first album was unmemorable, looks like more of the same.

Actually i really dig The first album (obviously not a popular opinion Here) but the new song does sound boring indeed.

I Wonder why Damon albarn cut ties with danger Mouse who did a great job with producing the first Album as well as Gorillaz demon days which i also consider a great Album(The Same goes for Gorillaz debut. It went downhill from there). Tgtbatq had a Very atmospheric sound which i really dig.
Tony Visconti well earned his reputation with Bowie bolan and one of my favourite sparks-albums but i think its been a while since he Made something with an impact. The Last damned Album Sounds just as Boring as this Song does.

They're okay, but they're no Tracy Chapman.

This album is the "First Night Back In London" to the debut's "Stop The World."

Such betrayal.
