Lots to choose from...some good...some not so good...some so so. I would recommend Redemption Song, Chris Salewicz's bio of Joe Strummer.

If it's just the Clash, Passion is a Fashion or Return of the Last Gang In Town.

Ditto for RotLGiT.

As previously advised it has to be Return Of The Last Gang in Town.
Also enjoyed Route 19 although only the LC era.

Route 19 for me too, it’s the more accomplished book, but for the casual fan I’d definitely be more inclined to recommend RoLGIT. And Johnny Green for a fun read.

CK's Clash City Showdown is a fun read, but it's definitely an opinion piece rather than a history.

Not forgetting our very own Ralph's "We Are the Clash." The official biogs all get hazy on that 83-85 period and it fills in all the gaps perfectly.

I agree with Hammy it is one of the best Clash books out there & catches the pre & post London calling perfectly.

I checked with Ant. He hopes it might get a physical release at some point but at the moment it looks like this will be an ebook only.

Note from Amazon page; "All royalties from this book will go to the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, London.
No one is making any money out of this. "

I hope there's a physical release, too, though I don't plan on waiting quite that long -- Mark and I contributed, as well. In my case,I put in my recollections of my and only Clash gig, at MSU (as I've mentioned) -- plus my late friend Tony's own recollections, photos of the ticket stub and T-shirt, and lastly, a spoken word piece I wrote years about the fact ("Rebel National Anthem Number One").

So I'm well represented, as are most of the Clash authors -- plus Baker, of course -- and having skimmed the Look Inside bit, I can say, it looks good. Surprised that nobody thought up something like this sooner!
