Re: One Nation Under Trump
At least this cover version has the "American Sound" and providing of course the original band was dumb enough to actually try it.

The music was promising until the vocals kicked in then had to stop, sounded like a bad Rancid cover band

The track is sound enough, but it's totally undone by the vocal, which is beyond blase (especially in light of the subject matter).

Not bad, I like the "woman tone" of the lead guitar at the end of the song

They were not just any old pigeons. These ones had a degree in deep Clash theory.white man wrote: ↑07 Jan 2019, 10:00amShooting pigeons ?Chairman Ralph wrote: ↑05 Jan 2019, 5:57amThe track is sound enough, but it's totally undone by the vocal, which is beyond blase (especially in light of the subject matter).
A lot was made of Sid killing that cat the cruel fucker, yet no one seems to care much about these birds.

Yes, the song was inspired by that incident, but the lyrics reference global terrorism and the corruption of the legal system -- that's what I've always taken from them, anyway. No pigeons to be found there.Shooting pigeons

I can't be the only one who looked at the band name quick and thought this was going to be Huey Lewis?

Awful vocal.
Joe's vocal is very underrated on the original, one of his most fired-up performances.

I just polished off some Low Country shrimp & grits and a mess of collards. That's a hell of a strain on the arm.
