Spotify Podcast - Stay Free : The Story of The Clash

Anyone listening to this?

8 part series, made by the BBC and narrated by Chuck D.

Episode 1 is the only one available so far, better than I expected, some great quotes from Joe talking about the 101er days and seeing the Pistols for the first time. Also Mick talking about bunking trains to follow the Faces on tour. Paloma, Robin, Richard Dudanski, and Caroline Coon are pretty good as well.

End with a typically mental quote from Bernie (talking about himself) - "It's the first time in your life you have met someone with real talent. Forget all the fucking idiots you have met. I'm the philosophy of it. I'm the great engine of it. Without me, there is nothing"!!

Chuck D does a good job as well. Can't wait for Episode 2.

“Maybe they aren’t the only band that mattered, but they were a template of something really special and new,”

No doubt about either of those.

Is this series available anywhere to non-Spotify persons. Like me!

They shouldn't really call it a Podcast if it is stuck inside the Spotify walled garden. It should be ripped but I won't be dumb enough to actually try it.

I listened to the first episode last night. I quite liked it. It was well put together and having Chuck D narrate is especially cool. It's not really a dry narration - he injects quite a bit of personality into the telling of the story. His ending of the first episode was pretty funny - as he introduces Bernie in a pretty funny way. Yeah, someone should figure out how to "free" this from Spotify. I don't know if I have the tech skills to do so, but I'm willing to look into it!
