That's brilliant photo mate, was that when he played for NY Cosmos?gkbill wrote: ↑18 Mar 2019, 11:47pmHello,
I worked with Pele back in the day. He was a great person - had plenty of time to chat with kids and others at the photo shoot. Everyone got an individual photo with Pele. See the photo attached - I'm in goal - the shot went wide. I have a story about penalty kicks I'll share with anyone in a pub.

No. This was after he retired and was doing promotional work for Umbro. I was signed to Umbro as well so we got together for a photo shoot in Greenville, SC. He was still magic with the ball (You want to strike a ball over that kid's head 40 yards away over there? No problem!). The outfits they gave him were reminiscent of the Cosmos' gear. We made out like bandits on grabbing free gear. All my family's Christmas presents that year were from Umbro.

I played for the Albany NY Capitals (or rather, "Lack of Capital") in the old ASL and APSL. It was a decent league as far as level of play - my teammates included Paul Mariner, Steve Powell, John Harkes, Chico Borja, Mike Masters (first US player to score a goal at Wembley) and others. It was fun to play but terrible as far as professionalism (paychecks frequently bounced).

Don't blame me—I tried to shift it to Rounders.

I can't remember if that's a good movie. I last saw it in 2001.

Re: Hanging around
It's Rocky dressed up as noir. And it is certainly not a good movie. But it is entertainingly bad.
