Blonde Rock and Roll

Post by Inder »

I was just listening to this and was inspired to transcribe the lyrics:
There's a blonde girl
I can't get out of my mind
(don't think of her)

I'm gonna lose my job
and I'm gonna fall right behind
(don't think of heeeeeeeeeeruugh)

they're gonna repossess my car
put me under control
(don't think of her, don't think of her)

we could have everything
if I could repossess my soul

asdkfhasdf baby
blonde rock and roll
she brings me sorrow
she something soul

jkhgfd baby
blonde rock and roll

oh, she was the best girl
that I ever had
(don't think of her, etc)

...and so on.
I understand why this remains unreleased.

Ahhh, the great Ellen Foley.

Gets some undeserved stick, that girl.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

In Limeyania, is undeserved kind of like flammable/inflammable?

I don't pay attention to the lyrics, so it just sounded like a catchy ditty to me. I always thought the chorus was, "Hey little baby."
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I was doing everything to repossess my soul

Hey little baby, blonde rock 'n' roll
She bring me sorrow
She win me soul(?)

I could get behind it as a throwaway power-pop number.

Typical shitty Mick song and further proof that he didn't give a shit about the band, allowing a talentless hack such as Foley to tread on such hallowed territory as Clashland. Sure, she had five seconds of fame with Meatloaf but so did Phil Rizzuto, and that fucker can't sing either.

Coulda been a fun little tune. Ellen's vocals are too loud due to the mix (such as it is).

Gosh, the Clash wrote a straight up boy/girl rock n' roll song, probably because it's fun.
How awful and peculiar.
