Hopefully it'll be better written than the Amazon description.

Cover is a cool idea if cheaply executed.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I'd rather have an autobiography.

Title is a bit ironic considering the Clash often found it hard to stay in tune.

Mick O'shea has done some nice work on Pistols books. Still would love an official book though.

Mick has always been in tune musically to what's going on. Ahead of the game most of the time.

It's a great cover. Cheaply executed is the idea behind that first zeroxed album sleeve.

It's a bit run-of-the-mill rock bio I'm afraid. Facts (mostly right, not all) and dates and old quotes. Certainly on the other end of the spectrum from Salewicz's florid psychoanalysis of Joe. Very far from what an autobiography would offer (not that one is in store for us).

It's interesting that the Bio's I would love to read most from the punk era are both from the Jonesey's. Steve and Mick.

For sure.

I'm not expecting much from it, but at 12 nicker it's worth a punt.
