Carbon Silicon I Loved You

Post by Telecaster »

Just having a blast of The News single by CS. Flipped over to the b-side and I Loved You is sounding great. Very punchy!.

It's a long time since I played this and it will be getting some more spins. Mixed by Bill Price no less.

I played some C/S last week. Carbon Bubble was ok but a bit samey, but the Magic Suitcase single sounded great still.

Marky and I have said we need to try and work out the full discography. There were so many free downloads that the official site doesn’t cover everything.

If anyone has already done the honours then please let us know.

C/S had some great ideas, I only wish some of the songs had both a single (shorter) edit to compliment the extended jams.

Psychotic Fish, Cab Driver and Be Good To Yourself are great songs regardless.

Be Good To Yourself
One of my all time favorite Mick songs, as it happens.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

Pyschotic Fish is one of my favourites, even if I always think of Viz's Pathetic Sharks when I play it!

I would have liked to have heard a Bill Price mix of Psychotic Fish.
Maybe Mick and Tony will re-evaluate what they did for a future project.

It's years since I listened to them. A "best" of with some judicious edits would be great.

Funnily enough i had a few on in the car. First time since well before covid. Those Carbon Casino gigs sounded great, wished i'd attendded.
The News is a great single. In fact all the so called singles were good.

I couldn't agree more! It was impossible to keep abreast of it all, especially when you add in stuff that people traded on CDRs - some songs had so many versions (demos, mixes, remixes, re-recordings) I gave up!

A while back, I posted this link to a zip file with a good number of tunes on it.

However, I know I have other tunes out there on an old hard drive somewhere. If I get some free time, I'll look for it and see what else I can share.

In addition to some of the ones mentioned, big fan of:

National Anthem
Soylent Green
Acton Zulus
Buckethead
Falun Gong Love Song
The Best Man
Big Surprise

If anyone has the lyrics to Acton Zulus, I'd love to see them. Really like this bit: "When the final post drops in their box, it reads, 'We said what we thought, we followed our hearts, we did it ourselves, and it definitely rocked'".
