Sweet action for kids 'n' cretins. Marjoram and capers.

If you didn't have sticks, I don't think you played hockey.
We had normal hockey sticks and a few homemade ones.
Like field hockey sticks? Okay, close enough for government work.
Yep but the old fashion long ones not like the ones they use now with the short curved end (none of us actually played hockey we pinched them off older sisters etc..)
I don't remember anyone playing field hockey in Saskatchewan—which is odd, actually, given how big ice hockey is—but floor hockey was big in school. Same as regular hockey but in running shoes and plastic sticks and puck. Preferable for us dorks who couldn't skate worth a damn.
That is what we played except we had the added dimension of playing on ice in trainers.

Road hockey's common here—two on two, three on three, moving the nets whenever a car comes thru—or boot hockey at an outdoor rink. Both of those were the extent of my hockey participation.

The other winter sport was Dodgems.
After the hockey was finished we would ride our bikes on the hockey rink and try and avoid each other but the last one to fall off was the winner.

Burn this country down. Regardless of whether our hired thugs stopped an alien invasion in the 50s, burn it down.

I enjoyed this exchange on the Toronto subreddit. Subways were delayed and overcrowded, apparently because some people were taken ill. 905'ers refers to suburbanites.

Ha! That's great. I always liked Lloyd. Far more than Mansbridge or Nash.
