Someone on Facebook is claiming there are unreleased Upping St demos with backing vocals from Joe.

TeddyB, any knowledge of this? Can't see it being likely myself.
The only song I have heard with Joe singing along is “U.S. North”. There are unreleased songs written by Joe and Mick in the 80’s that were recorded by BAD or demoed by Mick, but Joe’s voice is not heard on them. The only thing I could fathom is if there are rough mixes from the Upping Street sessions with Joe’s voice helping out before it was removed in the final mixes. Who is making the claims on Facebook?
Some bloke called Ade on the BAD Appreciation Society page. Says Joe sang on the early Upping St demos
Ade Sabini knows from whence he speaks. If he says he’s heard it, he’s heard it. I personally know of no demos from the Upping Street era except for the unreleased songs.
Thanks TB.

I am pretty sure that Vitamin C was inspired by Evidently Chickentown by John Cooper Clarke , sounds like it could have been sampled a little as well.
Evidently Chickentown was really inspired by Hamish Blair's 'Bloody Orkney:

Bloody Orkney
This bloody town's a bloody cuss
No bloody trains, no bloody bus,
And no one cares for bloody us
In bloody Orkney.

The bloody roads are bloody bad,
The bloody folks are bloody mad,
They'd make the brightest bloody sad,
In bloody Orkney.
All bloody clouds, and bloody rains,
No bloody kerbs, no bloody drains,
The Council's got no bloody brains,
In bloody Orkney.

Everything's so bloody dear,
A bloody bob, for bloody beer,
And is it good? - no bloody fear,
In bloody Orkney.

The bloody 'flicks' are bloody old,
The bloody seats are bloody cold,
You can't get in for bloody gold
In bloody Orkney.

The bloody dances make you smile,
The bloody band is bloody vile,
It only cramps your bloody style,
In bloody Orkney.

No bloody sport, no bloody games,
No bloody fun, the bloody dames
Won't even give their bloody names
In bloody Orkney.

Best bloody place is bloody bed,
With bloody ice on bloody head,
You might as well be bloody dead,
In bloody Orkney
There's nothing greets your bloody eye
But bloody sea and bloody sky,
'Roll on demob!' we bloody cry
In bloody Orkney.

In spent a year living and working there and had a fantastic time, unlike Blair. Still, he was there during war time and they couldn't have been too good anywwhere.

There's a bogus verse written (supposedly) by a local, in the 'call and response' style that brought us Uptown Top Ranking hitting back at Three Piece Suit.

Listening to Dial a Hitman, that electronic drum hit that goes on through the song really annoys me and puts me off the song. It doesn't even sound in time. I thought there was something wrong with my copy when I first heard it.

Great track but I agree it throws the song off kilter.

It's mixed so damn loud as well. Good tune otherwise.

Yep much like you when I first heard it I thought there had been a pressing fault. Only when I bought it again on CD did I realise it's purposely placed on the track. It doesn't completely ruin the track but it is jarring and not required.

Put the Globe on shuffle and leave out the Tea Party and you got a very strong album.

My 3rd favorite BAD album behind This Is and No. 10. A motivated/inspired Mick Jones was not be messed with.
