No News, in this case, is not good news.

Price alert (c/o superdeluxeedition.com) - amazon in Spain are selling the deluxe box set for about £73.
I've used amazon.de and amazon.fr before to get good deals, and they have an option on their websites to change the language to English, but it seems amazon.es doesn't let you do this. But if you use amazon the webpage layout and procedure is familiar.
There's no customs duty for European countries and just a couple of quid or so extra for postage.
I've jumped in on this anyway. What would possibly go wrong?!

EDIT: it won't let me copy and paste the actual link, but if you go on to amazon.es and search for Joe Strummer 001 (vinylo) you should find it. Price reduced from 130.33 Euro to 82.99
The embed stuff is automatic for Amazon links, unfortunately. Until I figure out a way to disable it, you can post text links using the [ code ] tag (without the spaces), like this:

Code: Select all

Fookin' Northerners! 😊

I looked on trustpilot wow that is a lot of negative feedback. Only two positive reviews. Maybe I'll cancel the order. I got some family in Newcastle so may be send the boys round.

The new anthology is Popmarket's Daily Deal, in its various configurations: https://www.popmarket.com/joe-strummer- ... al/b238153

The super deluxe for $119.99, vinyl edition for $48.99, cd with boook for $33.99, and the cd for $14.99 (which is list, I believe).
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

The only real deal there is the CD w/ book.

The official site has comparable prices, except for the CD, which is only $10.99. https://www.joestrummer.com

Wow, some really interesting stuff on this. Other than the previously unreleased stuff, we'll finally have cleaned up versions of Burning Lights and It's a Rockin World. Am I reading this right that Pete Howard gets cowriting credits on TIE and Pouring Rain???
I don’t think so. The names listed are the artists, not the writers. Like Electric Doghouse.” It notably credits only Joe, Paul and Pete on those demos. No Nick Sheppard. Also, not “Clash.”

The basement demo of US North will refer to Mick’s old home studio.
FYI, the “basement demo” of “U.S. North” has been removed from the Super Deluxe and replaced by a song called “Full Moon.” Mick felt that since the set already has the full studio recording of “U.S. North”, there wasn’t much value in the very rough demo. He thinks the compilers used a 101ers song instead but didn’t know which. “Full Moon”is still described on Joe’s website as a “basement demo”, which if taken literally, doesn’t suggest a 101ers song because Mick didn’t have the basement studio until the 80’s. Maybe the compilers are taking a small liberty, because “basement demo” could really mean anything.

So not the basement of 101 Walterton Road then.
