Can't remember who said it, may have been in the Crass book, but you got to own a Pink Floyd shirt to write "I hate" on it.

I think the best era is WYWH to Animals, but that wasn't on the poll. I assume that's what you meant with the Dark Side era, so I voted for that.

Totally agree, Those two are my favs, there are scattered tracks after Syd and before DSOTM that are also very good.

Atom Heart Mother is great, and I've always been a fan of Pillow of Winds. Also, most of the Saucerful album is quite good.

I never gave PF a chance, same with Led Zeppelin, I was a punk, they were dinosaurs. Only started to listen to them in my late 20's and now I love them both

I was the same way. Very elitist in Jr. High. I started to open up to jazz and funk by high school and then got more into dinosaur rock just after college. I feel better now.

I'll admit I kind of dug 'em in high school. I always felt they stood out a little bit from the rest of the 70's dinosaurs because they were just so weird. We had a small clique who hung out in the art room and by senior year I had it rigged so I was spending at least half of my day in the art room painting. We'd listen to a lot of music while we worked and Floyd made the cut (and we were pretty obnoxious and elitist about our music). Piper at the Gates of Dawn, Saucerful of Secrets, Meddle, Obscured by Clouds, Dark Side, and WYWH got played the most. Dave Gilmour is still one of my fave guitarists.

There were a lot of bands I wrote off without even giving them a chance simply because I felt I had to as a young, musical elitist punk kid. Glad I became more open minded as I grew older.

I grew more open-minded but not to Floyd and Zep. Still hate 'em.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Some of the early stuff I haven’t listened to properly but I have adored DSOTM since first hearing it as a kid. It ranks up there with London Calling for me among the greatest albums ever made, ridiculously good from first groove to last.

Okay, I'll admit to owning The Wall when it came out but we all did dumb stuff in high school.

They sound great when you are up a tree not so great when you fall out.
