If you really want to wind up a Vegan I just found out that most avacados aren’t Vegan 😊
I saw that. Kind of a crazy argument as to why they are not vegan. Thankfully, the gf doesn't care that I consume meat. According to her, I'm what they call a flexitatarian - which is someone who eats a mostly plant based diet with the occasional inclusion of meat.

She does try to sometimes lure me over to the vegetarian side by pointing out that Joe was a vegetarian (something I probably told her at one point)!
...and Mick.
Joe wasn't really a vegetarian as he ate fish. I think pescetarian is the correct term.
I believe that is the correct term.

Is Paul a vegetarian?
I saw him knocking up some bacon and eggs in a recent short film so I doubt it.

Ok then, he's a lacto-ovo vegetarian then. ;)

Wait, what? Do they all have bugs in them or something?
It has to do with the fact that farmers have to truck in bees to pollinate things like avocados and broccoli. It's a pretty insane argument - but since they're trucked in - they're used in a unnatural manner.
Gotcha. Thank you!
Movement veganism is fucking baffling.

It truly is. Until I started living with one - I never quite understood it. I still don't think I do. It carries over to more than just food: clothing, cosmetics, you name it.

Yes I think it is called forced migration. Bees are shipped around in trucks to commercial orchards to pollinate the crops. As Westway said unnatural behaviour for the bees.

I was chatting to a guy down the pub the other night who told me he aspired to be a fruitarian, eating only fruit and only fruit which has fallen from the tree without human intervention, so as not to harm the plant. I love ethical decisions, but that's a bit ridiculous, in my increasingly grumpy opinion.

If you go that far it would have to be a self seeded tree not planted. He could go hungry. Is he going to give up his hops too

As long as the fruitarian plants the seeds or at least discards them on good ground after eating the fruit this ethic works. If not, fruitarism is pretty much equivalent to eating unborn fetuses.

What's curious is that that position sees human beings as external to nature if it rejects any human role in encouraging plant growth. That's an argument that goes several steps beyond sustenance culture.
