Re: What Are you Listening to Right Now?
I remember being so excited in the 80's that there was a "new" VU album coming out, there were some good tunes on them
Re: What Are you Listening to Right Now?
Hello,
This reminds me. I've got the Trojan Sessions somewhere and I haven't listened to that in too long. Good stuff - thanks!

It's a great gig. I have this earlier release on CD. I recently sold the vinyl copy with the same sleeve as the CD.

Modern English - Mesh & Lace (1981)
Listening to a 4AD post-punk band? I feel like some sort of common doc worm or kory. This is good stuff. Some nice punky guitar gives this a little more punch than i would have expected. Sort of hard to believe that this unit was about to write and record "I Melt With You" but that's music for ya.
On the sound quality front, I'm listening to the 2015 Silver Saucer reissue of M&L and it sounds great.

Can't go wrong with 4AD, tho it always feels like you need to have huge, black exaggerated hair and a long coat and a perma-mope on to listen.Flex wrote: ↑09 Feb 2019, 2:50pmModern English - Mesh & Lace (1981)

Oh and Flex Jello Biafra in Denver tonight at Lions Lair. Also Bellrays somewhere in Denver on the 22nd, they will not disappoint!

Streaming Pandora on shuffle and "This Could be Anywhere" by Dead Kennedys just came on. Haven't listened to this in years, great stuff. Frankenchrist is such a great album. Oh, and my wife hates it.

I give the edge to PSD, but F is more thematically consistent in terms of lyrics.

Re: What Are you Listening to Right Now?
Same here, I've listened to this album way more than any other but I'm realizing after hearing that song that I haven't listened to this band in ages and I must remedy that. Its probably at least in part that I think all my stuff is on vinyl except PSD which I have on cassette somewhere.
